Graeme Trudgill
Graeme Trudgill
Graeme was appointed CEO in July 2023. Prior to this he was BIBA’s Executive Director for ten years when he joined the main board of BIBA and led the BIBA policy team that incorporates corporate affairs, technical services and communications. He is personally responsible for BIBA’s public affairs lobby with government, has provided written and oral evidence to the House of Commons and the House of Lords and is the author of the annual BIBA manifesto. Prior to joining BIBA Graeme was a general insurance broker between 1989 and 2001. Graeme’s knowledge of insurance and the sector is wide-ranging, and he appears regularly as a source of expertise in the media where he promotes the benefits of using a broker. He sits on the main board of the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office, the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities: Building Safety Programme Market Assurance Group, the MOD Financial Services Steering Group and the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Society of Insurance Broking, as well as BIBA’s Insurance Brokers’ Standards Committee. He has also participated on the CBI Trade Association Council and Insurance Fraud Taskforce. As a strong advocate of expanding access to insurance, Graeme sits on the Insurance Disability Champion’s Access to Insurance Steering Group and the BIBA Access to Insurance cross-sector committee. Graeme is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurance Practitioner.

Caroline Barr
Caroline Barr
Caroline has chaired the British Insurance Brokers' Association since January 2026, following six years as its independent Non Executive Director. She is also an iNED on the Board of the Equity Release Council and was, until recently, an iNED on the Board of BlackRock's life company, BlackRock Life Ltd (BLL). An experienced committee chair, she has led BIBA's access to insurance efforts, including as part of the Government's financial inclusion strategy, She was the chair of BLL's Investment Policy Committee, and has been a member of various Audit and Risk Committees. Earlier in her career, Caroline was an army officer, was trained in HR by Ford Motor Company, and worked in both retail and corporate banking. Later, she was a Deputy Director at HM Treasury and has been a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel. Caroline spends her spare time playing tennis and the piano, and supporting the music in her local church.

Kay Burley is one of Britain’s most experienced and familiar broadcasters. With a journalistic career spanning over four decades, she has reported on many of the key national and international stories of recent times. Kay was part of the original team that launched Sky News in 1989, becoming the channel’s first female presenter. Since then, she has anchored coverage of almost every major political event in the UK, including a dozen general elections, various referendums and leadership contests, as well as breaking news stories from around the world. Known for her incisive interviewing style and authority in live situations, she has become an enduring and influential figure in British news broadcasting. Throughout her career, Kay has reported from conflict zones and world capitals, and has interviewed global leaders, royalty, and public figures across politics, business and entertainment. In her 36 years at Sky, she hosted her own show, The Kay Burley Show, and the main breakfast news programme on Sky News, she also fronted election-night coverage and presented from the scene of many breaking stories. Outside broadcasting, Kay has written two novels and is a committed supporter of several charities, including organisations supporting cancer research and animal welfare.

Ana Robic is Senior Vice President, Chubb Group and Regional President, Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has overall responsibility for the general management and business results across 26 countries in the region. She also has executive management responsibility for Chubb Global Markets, the company’s international wholesale business headquartered in London. Ms. Robic has more than 25 years of insurance experience in personal and commercial underwriting and management. Prior to her current role, she served as Division President of North America Personal Risk Services where she had executive operating responsibility for the personal lines property and casualty insurance business that serves affluent and high net worth clients in the U.S. and Canada. Ms. Robic has also served as Chief Operating Officer of North America Personal Risk Services and Executive Vice President, National Commercial Insurance Leader for Canada. Across 18 years in commercial insurance, she has provided leadership across multiple lines of business and industry segments. Ms. Robic joined the Chubb Corporation in 1999. She was appointed Senior Vice President, Chubb Group in July 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science from Queen's University.

Michael is the CEO of Gallagher’s UK Broking division. Appointed to this role in January 2024, Michael leads Gallagher’s 8,000-strong team of colleagues in its UK and Ireland based Retail, Specialty and Pen Underwriting divisions. Prior to this Michael was CEO of UK Retail at Gallagher for 8 years where he oversaw a period of sustained organic growth and ongoing expansion through strategic M&A activity. Gallagher’s UK Retail division looks after the insurance needs of over one million commercial businesses and individuals. Michael has over 30 years’ experience in the UK insurance sector following a career with Price Waterhouse in Dublin. Having held a number of finance roles with insurers, he led NIG as Chief Operating Officer and then Managing Director. Helen forms part of the UK Cyber Executive Team. She has extensive experience of advising clients through cyber crises involving multiple stakeholders and service providers across the UK and Europe. He is currently the Chairman of the African Insurance Brokers Association a division of the African Insurance Organisation. He spent 35 transformative years at Scib Nigeria & Co Ltd., 21 of them as MD/CEO, during which he expanded the organisation from a ₦120 million enterprise to a ₦5.5 billion, number 1 insurance Broker in Nigeria, demonstrating exceptional strategic and operational leadership. A Fellow of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) and Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London, ST has been instrumental in advancing professionalism and institutional strengthening across the industry. As the 19th President of NCRIB and former Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Insurance Industry Consultative Council, he championed regulatory engagement, ethical practice, capacity building, industry CSR, and gender and youth inclusion. A seasoned professional and an advocate for excellence, integrity, diversity, and Market development, he continues to shape the sector as a Non‑Executive Director of Scib Nigeria and a life Board Member of the NCRIB. David joined BIBA’s main Board in August 2023 after being appointed Regulation Director. He has more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry and since 2002 has focused on insurance broking compliance. During that time David led a group's firms through FSA authorisation, as well as providing technical compliance advice to over 150 firms, from the international to the very small, on UK regulations. Joining BIBA in 2013, he brought a 'regulatory mindset' to his role, having spent a number of years at the Financial Services Authority.

Dave Martin joined Aviva in April 2023 as Managing Director UK Commercial and Chief Distribution Officer and sits on the UK General Insurance Executive Committee. Dave is responsible for setting and leading the strategic direction of Distribution and responsible for driving profitable growth across our UK Commercial business across Digital SME and Schemes and Mid-Market. Before joining Aviva, Dave has spent 34 years in the insurance industry in a number of roles having started as an apprentice handling personal motor in Bristol. Most recently Dave was Head of Retail Management at Zurich where he led the Personal Lines, Direct, Digital and Mid Commercial businesses. Before joining BIBA to BIBA, Alastair was Head of Distribution for Tokio Marine Kiln Group. He has over 40 years of experience in general insurance and spent the first 12 years of his career overseas, working in Hong Kong, Taipei and New York. Jake Iveson is a Chartered Actuary at Oliver Wyman, the management and strategy consulting business of MARSH (Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer, Oliver Wyman). He specialises in combining creativity with quantitative rigour to develop innovative solutions across the insurance and reinsurance ecosystem, with a particular recent focus on the applications and impacts of artificial intelligence for insurers and reinsurers. Outside of work, Jake volunteers extensively with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. He is Chair of the General Insurance Research and Thought Leadership Committee, Deputy Chair of the General Insurance Board, and Chair of the Brian Hey Prize judging panel. He is also a member of the Worshipful Company of Insurers. In recognition of his contribution to the profession, Jake was awarded the IFoA’s Emerging Actuary of the Year in 2025.

Laura began her general insurance career at Norwich Union in 1995. She moved to The Davis Group, and subsequently Bluefin where she became Distribution Director in their schemes business. Laura has built a 30-year career spanning sales, broking and underwriting, culminating in her current position as Managing Director of Yutree Insurance Ltd, a Chartered broking and underwriting firm in Newmarket and Norwich. Throughout her career, Laura has remained committed to advancing professionalism, innovation and collaboration across the insurance broking and underwriting professions. Laura chaired BIBA’s Anglia region for eight years, served as Deputy Chair on its main board, led its Regional Chairs Advisory Board, and now chairs its Insurance Technology and Innovation Committee (ITIC). Laura has also chaired the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Broking Community Board, championing standards and talent development across the broking profession. Laura has most recently been appointed to the Board of the Managing General Agents’ Association.

Ken Norgrove
Ken Norgrove has been the Chief Executive Officer of Intact Insurance UK (formerly known as RSA) since January 2022 following the acquisition of RSA by Intact Financial Corporation. Under Mr. Norgrove’s leadership, the business delivered its best financial results in a decade in 2024, building a stable platform for sustained profitability. Intact Insurance re-branded RSA in October 2025 with the ambition to become the UK’s best commercial insurer and grow the specialty lines business by leveraging Intact’s global footprint. Prior to January 2021, Mr. Norgrove was the CEO of RSA Scandinavia which was RSAs Insurance Group’s most profitable subsidiary at the time. Prior to leading RSA Scandinavia, Mr. Norgrove was the CEO of RSA Ireland, where he also led the very successful turnaround of that business from 2014 to 2019.

Caroline Barr
Caroline has chaired the British Insurance Brokers' Association since January 2026, following six years as its independent Non Executive Director. She is also an iNED on the Board of the Equity Release Council and was, until recently, an iNED on the Board of BlackRock's life company, BlackRock Life Ltd (BLL). An experienced committee chair, she has led BIBA's access to insurance efforts, including as part of the Government's financial inclusion strategy, She was the chair of BLL's Investment Policy Committee, and has been a member of various Audit and Risk Committees. Earlier in her career, Caroline was an army officer, was trained in HR by Ford Motor Company, and worked in both retail and corporate banking. Later, she was a Deputy Director at HM Treasury and has been a member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel. Caroline spends her spare time playing tennis and the piano, and supporting the music in her local church.
