Four months have whizzed by since The BIBA Conference 2022 and we continue to hear success stories of new relationships formed and business being done, via chance encounters in the exhibition hall or planned meetings in our business hubs.
The BIBA Conference is the largest and most important insurance event in Europe which returned in person with a bang this year at Manchester Central. We had 8,066 registered attendees, of which 5,169 were brokers, and with visitors coming from countries as far as Australia and USA, there was an incredible buzz across the city over the two days.
Not only were there over 220 insurers and service providers in the exhibition hall for delegates to speak to, our seminar programme was organised so that delegates could hear from more of our expert speakers on the hot topics in the industry than ever before. A brand-new Wellness Zone was also introduced, including stretching workshops, bite-sized talks on mental health & wellbeing and massage therapy. These went down very well with both delegates and exhibitors alike and we are looking forward to developing this feature for 2023.
Steve White, Chief Executive, BIBA said: ‘’We are absolutely delighted with the positive feedback from The BIBA Conference 2022. Our exhibitors really ‘scaled up’ in the exhibition hall, and the visitor flow worked well. What stood out for me was the amazing speakers and volume of relevant content we managed to deliver on both days. I’m very proud of the Conference and you only need to go on our social channels to see how well received the show has been this year. We can’t wait to be back again next year for an even bigger event – how can you not love and get excited about the insurance industry?”
Emma Chapman, Head of Conference said: ‘Well, what a Conference! In the early planning stages, we set out to create an event to reunite the insurance industry in-person after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic…and so we were absolutely delighted to have one of the busiest BIBA Conferences we have ever had. Networking has never been more important and face-to-face events remain a compelling and necessary aspect of business life. Especially important coming out of the pandemic was our Young Broker Day which helped support and develop the next generation starting out in the industry. We are already knee deep in planning for The BIBA Conference 2023 which will be held on 10 & 11 May and look forward to sharing our plans with you soon.”
